The Towleroad blog posted the story of a lesbian couple of 30 years who chose to apply for a marriage license in South Carolina. After being turned down for their license, they refused to leave and instead chose to be arrested in protest. Their protest is part of a larger campaign by the Coalition for Southern Equity.
