on progress reporting …

It is half-way through the first month of the year and here is my self-evaluation of my New Year's Resolutions:

  1. Eat healthier and lose a bunch 'o pounds.  At New Years I weighed in at 191lbs.  This morning I weighed in at about 184lbs.  It gets harder from here.  It's weird, but it always seems like your body wants to hang on to that last extra 10lbs.  I've been eating really well, but this morning we celebrated my boss's birthday and I kind of went crazy with the carbs.  The apple danish and sausage rolls were too much to resist. 
  2. Make more of an effort to nurture my current friendships.  I actually did pretty good with this one.  I went to see P.S. I Love You with Scooter Kitty and her pal Ms. Felicia.  The movie was very, very chick flicky, but I liked it and the company was great.
  3. Talk to at least two people that I don't know each week.  Errrr … Well, I'll try starting this one over again, but based on how well I've done on this one over the last two weeks, I'd say that it is still pretty likely that I'm going to be a old man living by myself with cats at the end of my life.
