We headed up to the Bronx to see a Yankee game yesterday. S/O is a huge fan so Yankee Stadium is one of our regular pilgrimage sites whenever we're in the city during the summer. We spotted the construction site for the new Yankee Stadium that is being constructed adjacent to the current park. To tell you the truth, I'm not much of a baseball fan, but going to a MLB game is great fun even when you aren't a true fan. The people watching is great in spite of the fact that anything to eat or drink will cost you an arm and a leg.
After the game, we stopped off and took a walk through Harlem which has most definitely gone very upscale since I first started visiting the city six years ago. There is construction and re-development going on EVERYWHERE!. We happened upon an ethnic festival in the park where people were drumming and dancing. Everything was colorful, gorgeous, and amazing!
We ended the day walking through the campus at Columbia where S/O did grad work and grabbed some dinner in the area.
The weather was beautiful!
