Gary Paulsen—The Amazing Life of Birds (The Twenty-Day Puberty Journal of Duane Homer Leech)

Duane Homer Leech is in high school.  High school is pretty tough all the way around, but when your parents have saddled you with the baggage of a name like Duane Homer Leech, you’d better be ready to take a lickin’, and hopefully, keep on tickin’.  As if the general high schoolness of high school isn’t enough society has decided that we should send students to high school at precisely the time that all of them are going through puberty!  What’s up with that concept?  Zits!  ELBOWS!  Voices changing!  ELBOWS!  Body parts dropping!  ELBOWS!  ELBOWS!  More ELBOWS!  A great, if brief at only 84 pages, read.  Absolutely the funniest book I’ve read all year!
