LibraryThing-ing

Okay, as part of my personal web 2.0 experiment along with this blog I went and joined up the the folks over at LibraryThing.  Joining amounted to creating an account and entering a bunch of books that I've read within the last … hmmmm … well, a fairly long time … I don't really know how to describe it other than to say that my rudimentary understanding of LibraryThing is that it is sort of like MySpace for people who like to read books.  It'll let you enter books that you've read or books that you own in your home library and meet up with other people out there who've read or own those books.  I'm obviously not one of the web 2.0 digital natives because I have to say, I'm kind of weirded out by letting the word know I've been reading.  Makes 'ya kind of feel … nekkid … know what I mean?  One of the coolest things that I've discovered, though, is that you can see the books that you've read in a graphic list.  It's perddy cool if you ask me!  I have to say, finding this feature helped me get over the "nekkid" thing a bit this afternoon.

  1. Hmmm… I went there once (LibraryThing) but couldn't figure out how it would do me any good so I stopped looking at it. Now I guess I'll have to go back and check it out to see what I did wrong! lol
